Transforming Singapore’s Live Music Scene for the Planet
Singapore has launched Southeast Asia’s first Music Climate Action Pledge, bringing the global #PlasticFreeParty movement to Asia in partnership with Bye Bye Plastic Foundation.Together, we are working to eliminate single-use plastics from live music events, starting with straws, cups, and bottles, while building a culture of sustainability across festivals, venues, and nightlife in Singapore and beyond.

Why It Matters
Live music is a powerful force for connection but it’s also a major contributor to single-use plastic pollution. It’s time to change the tune.
Through this pledge, signatories commit to:
- Phasing out at least two of the “big three” plastics (cups, straws, bottles) within 12 months
- Participating in quarterly learning and support meetings
- Accessing vetted sustainable supplier recommendations
- Showcasing collective progress at Music Climate Action Summit 2026
This pledge is practical, action-focused, and community-led, helping the industry transform while inspiring fans and communities to build a better future.
Who’s Behind It
This pledge is led by Sundown Festival, Singapore’s homegrown music and climate action festival
