Since 2009, Sundown Festival has blended music, culture, and sustainability to reimagine what festivals can be – turning entertainment into advocacy and music with a message.

OUR

To inspire conscious living, amplify Asian voices, and co-create a radically hopeful future.

MISSION

What makes us green

We are on a 3 year journey to become as sustainable as we possibly can. We invite you to join us on this journey, knowing that we are far from perfect, but are committed to lightening our footprints because the planet is our dance floor and there is no music on a dead planet.

GAIA - Our New Sustainability Zone

Talks, workshops, and a conscious marketplace spotlighting local and regional impact innovators.

Plant-Based Food Options

Curated plant-based dishes from across Asia, with an exclusive all plant-based menu at the Gaia zone.

Amimal agriculture is one of the leading green house gas emitters. This year we are working towards 50% of our menus offering plant-based options.

Clean Energy Powered

Our Gaia outdoor zone is fully powered by battery generators running on clean energy.

Festivals of our scale run on fuel generators. This year we are testing out battery generators in our Gaia zone to see if we can roll it across the whole festival.

Zero Single-Use Plastic

We are leading the #PlasticFreeParty movement in Singapore – with no single use plastic water bottles, cups or straws at our festival. We are implementing a reusable cups system in collaboration with MUUSE.

Single-use plastic is chocking our oceans and landfills. There is nothing ‘single-use’ about it as it sticks around for long after we are gone. We are committed to removing as much single-use as we can.

Waste Less, Feed More

We partner with composters to reduce landfill waste and work with food banks to redistribute surplus meals.

⅓ of all food produced is wasted! We want to create a circular system for any food waste we have.

Carbon Tracking & Offsetting

We are measuring our footprint with Unravel Carbon and offseting through verified programmes that protect forests and biodiversity.

You can’t change what you don’t measure. So this year we are tracking our carbon footprint for the first time so we can actively reduce it in the coming years.

Movement Building

We’re driving a regional climate action movement through music. Partnering with Music Declares Emergency and Bye Bye Plastic, we want to green the live music industry one #PlasticFreeParty at a time because there is #NoMusicOnADeadPlanet.

Digital First, Paper Light

We keep things mostly digital to cut down on printing, and when print is a must, we always opted for FSC-certified paper when possible

Less paper, less waste, more trees left standing.

We’re on a journey to make Sundown Festival a true Green Wonderland and we’d love your input. If you have ideas, feedback, or ways we can do better, drop us a note at contact@sundownfestival.com and be part of shaping a more sustainable future with us.
